On October 22, 2016, the SCUBAnauts went to MarineQuest, which is a festival held at USF. There the nauts talked to hundreds of people about the program. Most of the conversation revolved around what we have done to help coral reefs in Florida, the fish surveys we do in the Gulf of Mexico, the things we do on the summer trip to Mote Marine Laboratory in Summerland Key, including diving with the Veterans, and just our scientific monthly meetings. The Nauts at the festival attracted a lot of people who seemed very interested in the program, and of these people we managed to get contact information for more than 40 people, and of these about a dozen possible scientists, and two boat captains were found and will hopefully join our organization. We were in dire need of scientists, and boat captains, so being able to locate these people will hopefully boost our organization, and take a little weight off our hardworking volunteers so we can keep successfully guiding young men and women gathering information and saving our oceans.
Thank you to everyone who helped at the stand, and helped secure a future where we get to keep diving.
