This past weekend SCUBAnauts International had more than 75 participants in our annual First Aid for Professional Divers course sponsored by Divers Alert Network (DAN). The members of the organization have to complete the 2-day course with examination every two years. During the “off year” SCUBAnauts complete a refresher course and examination to maintain their certifications.

President & CEO of the organization, Paul Foisy, stated, “I believe that this has been the largest DAN training exercise that we have held.

The SCUBAnauts Dive Safety Officer, Scott Crawford was surprised: “Being new to the organization this year, I didn’t know what to expect, but this group of young adults is amazing and takes its dive safety very seriously.

Thanks to our 13 volunteer instructors who gave up their entire weekend to ensure the continued safety of the youth. There is nothing more important as they participate in underwater marine research activities. And a special thank you is due to Katie Shoultz for organizing the whole event.
